Undergraduate Student Research Grants Available

Sponsor:  American Public Power Association (APPA), Demonstration of Energy & Efficiency Development projects (DEED)

Eligibility: Applicants must be full-time students attending school at an accredited college/university or vocational institution within the US and must not be graduating within 12 months of the application deadline. Official transcripts must be submitted by the application deadline.

Student Research Grants

These student grants provide funding to support research in an energy-related project sponsored by a DEED member utility. Review the Student Research Grant Requirements; Research Grant Application Checklist and Questions.

  • $4,000 plus up to $1,000 in travel funds to attend applicable conference.
  • Deadline: February 15 and October 15 each year.

Applicants must have a utility sponsor.  Alan Dostal, Director of Research for the Nebraska Public Power District can be contacted as a potential sponsor at aldosta@nppd.com.  Mr. Dostal has sponsored two successful student projects in recent years.
